چکیده

depend on the activated mode of operation q(t) ∈ Q and are influenced by disturbances d(t). The discrete controller implements a state-dependent switching law to trigger mode transitions in the plant, such that specifications r(t) imposed on the continuous state x(t) are met. A central control task of DCCS concerns the stabilization of stationary periodic operations, which map into p-periodic limit cycles Γ in the state space (see Fig. 2). Each limit cycle Γ can be characterized by its periodic mode sequence QΓ = (q̄?0 . . . q̄ ? p−1) and the associated switch points XΓ = {x̄? ( q̄?0 ) , . . . , x̄ ( q̄?p−1 ) }. In general, orbital stability must be achieved by timing mode transitions properly, as the mode order is fixed through Γ.

Stabilization of Limit Cycles of Discretely Controlled Continuous Systems by Controlling Switching Surfaces

Discretely controlled continuous systems (DCCS) represent an important class of hybrid systems, in which a continuous process is regulated by a discrete controller. The paper considers the problem of stabilizing the periodic operation of such systems under event-driven switching. The key idea presented is to adjust switching surface parameters on-line to the current behavior of the continuous s...

Switching Surface Design for Periodically Operated Discretely Controlled Continuous Systems

Discretely controlled continuous systems (DCCS) represent an important class of hybrid systems, in which a continuous process is regulated by a discrete controller. The paper introduces a novel modelbased design procedure for periodically operated DCCS with the objective to produce a periodic stationary operation. The method exploits an equivalence to periodic control systems to obtain an event...

Analysis and Design of Discretely Controlled Switched Positive Systems

Discretely controlled switched positive systems are characterized by interacting continuous and discrete dynamics. Switching must take place not only to move the continuous state from the initial state to a goal state, but also to make the system remain in the surroundings of the goal state. The continuous dynamics are positive. This paper shows that if the continuous positive systems making up...

Estimation of New Weighted Controlled Switching Overvoltage by RBFN Model

Mitigating switching overvoltages (SOVs) and conducting well-suited insulation coordination for handling stresses are very important in UHV transmission Lines. The best strategy in the absence of arresters is controlled switching (CS). Although elaborate works on electromagnetic transients are considered in the process of designing transmission systems, such works are not prevalent in day-to-da...

A Method for the Design of Optimal Switching Surfaces for Autonomous Hybrid Systems

This paper discusses the design of optimal feedback control laws for hybrid systems with autonomous (continuous) modes. The solution of similar problems, when the dynamic modes are non linear, is, in general, dependent on the initial conditions. The same problem affects the ”open loop” control based on the definition of the optimal switching times. In this work an algorithm is proposed, allowin...
